Indoor Wicker Planters - A Home for Your Plants and a Verstaile Neutral Decor for Indoors
Also: Wicker Plant Stands
For people looking for furniture and furnishings made from a natural material, wicker is a popular choice. The neutral colors of wicker can blend well with most interior design styles and color schemes, although these days it is more common than it was to see wicker painted in any color. Wicker can also have another big advantage to many, in that it is an economic material to choose.

One of the reasons wicker is relatively cheap, compared to good quality wood, for example, is that "wicker" is not really a single material. Rather, it is a way of using plant fiber which can come from any one of many suitable plants or trees.
Some of the most popular sources of plant fiber for weaving wicker products are tropical rattan and bamboo, willow and reed. Being light in weight, wicker furniture can be especially convenient for patio, porch and conservatory furniture, and for planters and plant stands in the same situations.
Wicker planters, like other wicker products, usually have a framework made from a more robust material. Through the frame, or around it, the wicker is woven just as in basket weaving.
Wicker is quite a versatile material, thus allowing many options for shapes and sizes. Some of those possibilities are revealed in the pictures on this page. The top picture, of the Hayes wicker planters, shows a set of variously sized round plant holders, while the center picture is a traditional pedestal style planter. The latter has color options other than natural wicker.
